LEE TROOP INTERVIEW
12 WEEKS TO GOLD COAST
Back in the early days of my running career, whilst living at home with my parents, I would time my run via the clock on the kitchen wall. Once the minute hand passed 12 at 5pm, I would go for my 8km run. When I returned I would arrive at the bottom of the stairs, puffing and dripping with sweat I would sing out to my Mother asking what the time was. I was always searching for a reply such as ' 5.32 and 20 seconds ' or ' 5.33 and 10 seconds ', hoping to of bettered my time from the day before. Unfortunately Mum never caught on to the fact that I was timing my run and the importance that exact time played and I would often be frustrated by the common reply of ' Just after 5.30 '.
Time plays an important part in running for the majority of us. Please click here for complete
